INTRODUCING SCOTT KELLER:
I am a father of 4, a husband, a worker, a computer geek by trade, a brainstormer and encourager by heart and passion, and a speaker; a man with a history of struggles who would not play the game - most of my struggles are because I would not play the game.
I have tons of faults. I have tons of things to learn, but I usually learn them quickly. I think I have a different perspective on most things than most people, but most people seem to agree with my perspective once they’re aware of it. I’m not tall, I’m not rich, I’m not for the system, of the system, and by the system but rather of the people, for the people, and by the people.
Why Vote for Scott Keller?
I find this to be one of the toughest questions to answer as it forces me to find good things to say about myself and I don’t do that very often, if at all. It’s far easier for me to point out my faults, than my good qualities, and I prefer to just be the best me I can be and let others make their own judgments.
I think basically the answer of why to vote for me for President is because of my background. Not because it’s all that great, because it isn’t, but because each struggle generated a desire for a solution, each opportunity has made me uncomfortable of taking advantage of others, generated a desire to help others instead, and many of these two situations generated ideas for doing things better overall. And even this final result caused me to look differently at the system we have now and be surprised that the “leaders” we have had who don’t seem to recognize the root problems. Plus, I’ve been exposed to ideas in my lifetime that made me understand that we are capable of far more than we’re currently demonstrating – that we don’t have to fight over issues and can instead solve them instead: that we’re not limited to one or two options to choose from, but rather from many, and that the universe is a mighty big and old place and we’re just getting started.
I think I’ll be a good President because of my awareness. I’m aware of the root causes of many issues and recognize the bigger picture. I’m aware of how belief systems work and can question my own. I’m aware of how questions work and how asking better questions gets better answers. I’m aware that I need to listen to others. I’m aware that doing the same thing over and over does not generate different results. And I’m aware that there are people and groups of people out there who will stop at nothing to keep from losing their grip on power and that there are ways of neutralizing their attempts.
And, I’m not in it for a career, but to stop the bleeding and give my kids and their generation some kind of future to look forward to, rather than dread.
There may be more to say, but I think that answers the question. I’m of course always available to answer questions, and, as always, I would appreciate your vote in November, 2012.
